Here’s What I Know
You can find adventure in your own backyard or in a remote jungle halfway around the world. It’s a mindset, and so is wellness.
I define wellness as a continuous growth process toward a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. It’s not just about what you eat and how much you exercise. It’s the right combination of food, movement, and spirituality, work etc. that works for you!
It Took Me Years To Truly Understand This
I once was a corporate working girl living in San Francisco and working for a large asset management firm. After experiencing corporate burnout, I was inspired to learn more about nutrition at the Institute For Integrative Nutrition. But I got more than I bargained for…I found out that Total Wellness is a never-ending journey for the Body, Mind, AND Soul.
I went through a career change, an earth-shaking breakup, and debilitating mental illness and came out the other side with an Integrative Health Coach certification and 200 hours of yoga training under my belt. Mix that together with a serious case of wanderlust and you have Shannon Near and Far, a blog dedicated to helping you discover your best self through travel and adventure.
